Project Kick-off Events
The enormous, but mostly invisible effort that has gone into project development and application process is finally being rewarded by visible results of the first projects starting with active implementation. Many of them commemorated the occasion by organizing opening events to present their efforts to the public.
Having successfully completed the contracting phase, the projects funded within the First Call of the Programme can now concentrate on the implementation of project activities. In line with the communication requirements set by the Programme, and aiming at making their projects visible and transparent, many projects have decided to organize an event presenting their project to their target groups and to the general public:
- DRAVIS2 (2.1.4/0003) - 21 April 2010, Balatonföldvár
An opening conference of the project was held with participation of all the project partners and other participants interested in the project. A press release was given to introduce this project whose main aim is to enhance and improve the cooperation in the field of disaster management in the cross-border area to the public.
- AGRO INC (2.1.3/0005) - 18 May 2010, Križevci
A kick-off partner meeting was held in Križevci, followed by a press conference to present the project to the public. AGRO INC. is a follow-up project of the previous project „BP NET“ with the main objective of improving the cooperation between regional supporting structures through development of Cross-border Business Park Network with results of development of a business plan, zoning plans (infrastructure plans), joint website. - CBRIS II (2.1.4/0002) - 25 May 2010, Mohács
The project was presented to the public at an openin
g conference in Mohács. The Lead Beneficiary and Project Partners presented the project whose objective is the utilisation of the so called River Information System (RIS) in order to make the border controls much more effective and the elaboration and development of a RIS based port management application in the ports of Mohács and Osijek.
- Green Kindergarten (2.2.1/0006) - 08 June 2010, Donja Dubrava
A presentation of the Programme and the project was organized by the municipality of Donja Dubrava, one of the partners in the project that aims at achieving environmentally conscious education that starts as early as the kindergarten. - EXPERT ACADEMY (2.1.3/0003) - 10 June 2010, Harkány
The opening ceremony for the project was attended by many interested actors from the cross-border area, mainly from the employment sector. The project's idea, objectives and aims were presented that include improving and encouraging further co-operation of the employment oriented organizations from the two sides of the borders, exchange of knowledge, preparation for the entering of the area into the single European market.
- UNIREG Impulse (2.1.3/0001) - 10 June 2010, Osijek
The project's opening conference saw many participants from the academical circles from both sides of the border, including Pécs, Kaposvár and Osijek Universities. The presentation of the project that aims at employing the regional universities as an impulse for regional development, was followed by a workshop that tried to give an answer on how to deal with the current world-wide crisis, in the local and regional framework. - MOBILE REGION (2.1.2/0001) - 21 June 2010, Koprivnica
The overall objective of the project presented to the public at its opening conference in Koprivnica is to strengthen socio-economic interactions in the border regions of Hungary and Croatia through stimulating labour market mobility. The project aims to promote the exchange of good practice between stakeholders concerned - public authorities and institutions, the social partners and the private sector, as well as the potential employees in the region. The priority of this project is to raise the low number of cross-border job seekers in the HU-CRO cross-border economic area. - HEALTH TOURISM IN THE BORDERS (2.1.3/0008) - 17 June 2010, Keszthely
The overall objective of the presented project is to determine the importance of health tourism in the competitiveness of rural regions in the cross-border area and identify the most important factors of success. The project will also assess the social impacts of health tourism on employment, educational level and living standards to help local decision makers to guide their health tourism related development strategies as well as create an IT platform and cross-border network of Croatian and Hungarian health tourism actors to share ideas,discuss development plans. - WHP (2.1.3/0002) - 23 June 2010, Pécs
A number of topics were covered at the opening conference of this project with the aim of the elaboration and the implementation of research and development systems contributing to the joint development of the methodology of occupational health. Among other things the employment situation in the Croatian and Hungarian target region as well as the situation of occupational health in Hungary and in Croatia. - KAČA (2.2.2/0003) - 1 July 2010, Čakovec
A press conference was organized by the Lead Beneficiary and the Project Partners to commemorate the start of the project implementation and to share the information about the project that has the objective of renewing the social connections on cross – border area. - K2 NET (2.1.1/0001) – 2-4 July 2010, Koprivnica

A Croatian-Hungarian Economy Fair was organized as the first public event of the project, hosting a large number of exhibitors from both sides of the border. This three-day event was the opportunity for craftsmen from the cross-border region to share knowledge, experiences and establish connections with the aim of a further development of a joint cross-border market activities. - CREDU (2.2.1/0003) - 15 July 2010, Čakovec
A formal presentation for the media and the general public was organized by the Lead Beneficiary and the Project Partners to commemorate the start of the project implementation and to share the information about the project that promotes a cross-regional training programme for vocational education in the field of traditional way of architectural building. - CHEE (2.1.3/0003) - 23 July 2010, Osijek
The 40th Subsidy Contract was signed by the Lead Beneficiary at the opening conference of the project targeting Action 2.1.3, more specifically energy efficiency improvement in the cross-border area. The project has a great potential in the education of local communities about energy efficiency issues, as well as in taking concrete EE measures through the work component that includes reconstruction of a school in Osijek and an old-people's home in Szigetvár in which way the energy consumption is planned to be reduced by as much as 70%.
