Accession Conference Vukovar 2013

To mark the second edition of European Cooperation Day in the year of Croatian Accession, the Programme is organising the Accession Conference to be held in Vukovar, Croatia, in September 2013. This will be the opportunity to celebrate Croatia’s joining the European Union through the presentation of the many ways this cross-border co-operation programme has helped it on its European path.

As the Programme is entering its final phase, it is the time to run up the scores and see how far we have come in the last seven years, and – as any proud parent would – to show off the achievements of our brain child. We are still busy with nursing the latest round of projects into full implementation, and there are some still just waiting for that final push over the finish line, but we want everyone to know about all their successes and to learn from an occasional difficulty or two.

All these will be presented at the large-scale programme event, planned to be held during the European Co-operation Day campaign in Vukovar, the town symbolising at the same time Croatia’s independence and its strong ties to its neighbours and Europe being the largest Croatian town on the great European River Danube.

The event will be the opportunity to present the many projects realised within the Programme and to summarise the long way from the beginnings of the programme and its setting up to the fully developed organism producing many living and breathing projects it became over the years and to share the lessons learned, obstacles overcome and successes achieved along the way with all those who took part in its implementation.
